Makes 2 servings

Ingredients:

  • 4 bags Tadin Canelita Tea
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 2 Tbsp. masa harina (corn flour)
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 star anis
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped, ceremonial grade cacao
  • 1–2 tsp. coconut sugar, or preferred sweetener
  • 1/16 tsp. salt, smallest pinch

Instructions:

  1. Add the boiling water over the tea bags in a mug and top with a small plate or lid. Steep for five minutes. Remove the plate and the tea bags.
  2. Add the steeped tea and milk into a heavy bottomed pot. Whisk in the masa harina while continuously stirring, to avoid lumps.
  3. Add in the cinnamon stick and star anise. Cook for 10 minutes on medium low stirring occasionally. Take out the cinnamon stick and star anise.
  4. Turn off the heat, add in the chopped cacao, coconut sugar, and pinch of salt, whisk until combined (see blender directions below).
  5. Pour the mixture into mugs and garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Note: If you want a creamier drink, you can carefully do this process in the blender, blend for 30-seconds. Make sure the lid is on tight and be mindful the mixture is hot.
