Canelita Tea with Hibiscus and Orange Syrup

Instructions:

  1. Make orange syrup: Heat sugar and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves and mixture boils. Add orange peel and decrease heat to medium low. Simmer for 45 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Make Tea: Place tea bags, hibiscus, orange peel and water in a tea pot or saucepan. Heat over low heat until water begins to simmer. Remove from heat, set aside and let steep for at least 7 minutes.
  3. Place 1-2 orange peels from the syrup in a serving cup. Add tea. If you want your tea sweeter, add orange syrup. Stir and serve.
