Chamomile, or ‘Manzanilla’ as it is called by Spanish-speakers, has been relied by upon for easing upset stomachs, cooling irritated minds and skin, calming the body before a test or big performance, relieving menstrual cramps, soothing irritated gums for little ones and even for lightening and brightening hair. Chamomile/Manzanilla is your herbal ally when you want to feel calm and centered morning or night.
Additions: Chamomile tea is traditionally used topically to soothe the skin and is useful to add in baths to calm the mind and body.
Topical Care: Chamomile tea can be a delightful hair rinse and/or bath/foot bath. Steep 2-3 tea bags for 5 minutes (covering your mug so that the medicinal aromatics don’t escape), allow to cool, and rinse your hair. Don’t rinse out! For a foot bath or regular bath, steep 4-6 tea bags for 5 minutes and add to your bath and refresh.
